Overnight, Russian forces launched a large-scale attack on civilian infrastructure in Odesa region. This was reported by the head of the Odesa Regional Military Administration, Oleh Kiper.
One of the strikes again hit an administrative building that Russian forces had attacked the day before. A fire broke out on the upper floors. Emergency services quickly extinguished the blaze.
At other locations, the attack damaged the roofs, facades and windows of two residential buildings. A passenger car and a minibus were also damaged.
The Russian attack also damaged a two-storey building belonging to an educational institution.
Preliminary reports indicate there were no fatalities or injuries.
According to DTEK, the shelling caused emergency power outages in part of Odesa district, including Odesa’s Peresyp and Prymorskyi districts.
By morning, power engineers had already restored electricity to more than 60,000 households.
Some 178,700 families remain without electricity. Disruptions to critical infrastructure and electric public transport are possible.
- On 18 September, Russian occupiers attacked central Odesa with a jet-powered drone. An administrative building was damaged, and the number of injured rose to 10, including two emergency responders.
