A fake photo is being circulated online showing a Coca-Cola-branded vehicle allegedly damaged by shelling, with what are claimed to be parts for launching drones visible in its cargo bed.
This was reported by the Centre for Countering Disinformation.
The image is being posted by Russian and pro-Russian social media accounts. Propagandists claim that civilian transport in Ukraine is supposedly being used for military purposes.
However, the Centre for Countering Disinformation stresses that the image is a forgery.
According to the CCD, the image was generated using artificial intelligence. This was confirmed by an analysis of the photo using specialised tools for detecting AI-generated content.
The Centre noted that the spread of this image is part of a Russian disinformation campaign.
In the Centre for Countering Disinformation’s assessment, the aim of the campaign is to justify terrorist attacks on civilian sites, including the strike on the Coca-Cola plant.
Also, according to the CCD, spreading the fake is intended to create the false impression that Ukraine is supposedly using civilian logistics for military purposes.
