Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has reported on the results of overnight strikes on targets inside Russia. Ukraine’s Defence Forces hit two oil refineries — in Perm and Novoshakhtinsk.
Zelenskyy said this on social media.
In addition to the refineries, a defence enterprise was hit: the Iskra Plant in Ulyanovsk.
Ukrainian forces also struck Russian radar facilities in the Rostov Region. Zelenskyy noted that Russian troops in the area lost two radar stations.
The President thanked Ukrainian service personnel for carrying out the operation and stressed its impact on Russia’s ability to continue the war.
“Thank you to our warriors and every unit for their accuracy and for systematically limiting Russia’s capacity to kill,” Zelenskyy said.
Details of the Strikes From the General Staff
The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported the results in detail. In particular, in Perm, Perm Krai, the Lukoil-Permnefteorgsintez oil refinery was hit. A fire was recorded on the site after the strike.
This plant can process about 13 million tonnes of oil per year. It produces fuel and other petroleum products and is involved in supplying Russian troops with fuels and lubricants.
Another strike hit the Novoshakhtinsk oil refinery in Novoshakhtinsk, Rostov Region. A fire was also recorded there.
The processing capacity of this facility is about 7.5 million tonnes of oil per year. The General Staff notes that the plant is one of the key suppliers of petroleum products in southern Russia and is involved in meeting the needs of the Russian military.
In addition, near Novoshakhtinsk, Ukrainian forces hit two Russian radar stations — the 64L6 Gamma-S1 and the 39N6 Kasta-2E2.
- On the night of 25 September, the media reported that fires broke out at several facilities in different regions of Russia. In Perm, a fire flared up at LLC Lukoil-Permnaftoorgsintez (PNOS). In Ulyanovsk, JSC R&D Enterprise Iskra Plant was also reportedly burning. And in Voronezh, the Voronezhsintezkauchuk plant may have caught fire. A combined heat and power plant is also located nearby.
