Ukraine has secured $51.5m from the Government of Japan under the World Bank’s THRIVE project to develop the healthcare system.
Prime Minister of Ukraine Serhii Koretskyi wrote about this on Telegram.
The funds have already been transferred to the state budget and will be directed towards improving the effectiveness of the medical guarantees programme and strengthening the institutional capacity of the National Health Service of Ukraine.
The total volume of the THRIVE programme is $1.2bn, of which Ukraine has already received $449m.
"We are grateful to the Government of Japan and the World Bank for their consistent support for Ukraine, their contribution to our financial resilience and the development of the healthcare system," Koretskyi wrote.
- Recently, Ukraine received $841m in financing from the World Bank under guarantees from the Government of Canada. The funds were used to reimburse state budget expenditures related to pension payments.
