Yesterday, Ukrainian journalist Mariia Yizhvenko was killed in a Russian attack on Kyiv. She previously worked in the “Business” department of NV.
As the Institute of Mass Information reports, this was confirmed by the victim’s husband, serviceman Danylo Yizhvenko.
It is noted that the woman was killed as a result of a drone strike on the Compass FM business centre.
As Danylo Yizhvenko wrote, the couple had been planning their future. At the end of last year they took out a loan to buy a flat, and this winter they were planning to have a child. They also recently bought a car so that it would be easier for Mariia to get around the city with their future child.
“The car burned out, Masha died. I lost a friend, a girlfriend, a wife, the mother of my future children, who now will not be,” IMI quotes the victim’s husband as saying.
NV Business deputy editor-in-chief Oleksandra Nekrashchuk wrote that Mariia was a talented journalist and someone who sought to explain complex technology topics in an accessible way. According to Nekrashchuk, a few months ago Mariia decided to move into the corporate sector.
Mariia Yizhvenko became the 138th media worker to be killed as a result of Russia’s aggression against Ukraine.
- Yesterday in Kyiv Russians killed seven people, including a 14-year-old boy.
- Today the occupiers continued their terror of the capital.
