President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has urged international partners to respond to Russia’s daily shelling of Ukraine by increasing sanctions pressure.
The head of state said this on social media.
“Overnight alone, 14 people were injured as a result of Russian attacks. There were many strikes on residential buildings – in Kyiv, Zaporizhzhia, Odesa Region, Sumy Region, and Kharkiv Region. Sadly, two people were killed in Zaporizhzhia. My condolences to their families and loved ones,” Zelenskyy said.

There is also damage to civilian infrastructure: a nursery in Kyiv, a lyceum in Kyiv Region, a university in Kharkiv, and energy facilities in Poltava Region, Mykolaiv Region, and Vinnytsia Region.

“It is important that partners do not forget that Russia’s escalation is happening every day. If the Russians have chosen to make their strikes even more brutal, the world must choose stronger responses so that the war does not spread further,” the President said.
He also separately appealed to US President Donald Trump, urging him to apply sanctions measures provided for under US law against Russia and those who financially support its war.
“We ask President Trump to implement Lindsey Graham’s law on Russia and everyone who financially supports its war,” Zelenskyy stressed.
The President also called on the EU leadership to introduce new sanctions against Russia.
“We ask Presidents António Costa and Ursula von der Leyen to introduce additional European sanctions,” the President stressed.
In addition, the head of state urged international leaders not to weaken the restrictions already imposed on Russian oligarchs and to maintain trade restrictions on Russia.
“We ask all leaders not to remove Russian oligarchs from existing sanctions lists and to continue restricting any trade with terrorists until Russia stops the war,” the head of state said.
According to Zelenskyy, it is precisely the joint pressure of the international community that should help bring the war to an end.
