Iran is ready to allow inspectors from the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) into its nuclear facilities if this becomes part of agreements with the United States on ending the conflict.
Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian said this in an interview with CBS.
Answering a question about the possibility of resuming IAEA inspections, Pezeshkian said Tehran is prepared to discuss the terms of such access as part of broader talks with the United States.
"If they want to come and carry out inspections, we can reach agreements and settle the parameters of this issue within the framework of broader negotiations," the Iranian president said.
At the same time, Pezeshkian once again denied that Iran is seeking to develop nuclear weapons.
Speaking during the UN General Assembly’s general debate, Pezeshkian also said that Tehran will not agree to restrictions on the use of peaceful nuclear technologies.
According to him, the development of nuclear weapons is prohibited by Islamic religious norms. He stressed that even if certain representatives of the country wanted to create such weapons, they have no right to do so from a religious standpoint.
