On the night of 26 September, Romania scrambled two F-18 fighter jets over an airborne object detected near the border with Ukraine.
The Romanian Ministry of Defence reported this on X.
Romania’s radar system detected an airborne object flying near Vylkove in Odesa Region, close to the Romanian border.
After the object was detected, residents in the northern part of Tulcea County were sent a warning about a possible threat. To monitor the situation, the Romanian military scrambled two F-18 fighter jets.
The air-raid alert in Romania was lifted at 01:30. No incursion into Romanian airspace was recorded.
- On the morning of 25 September, Romania also scrambled two fighter jets over a drone near the border. Radar detected an airborne object 20 kilometres east of the city of Galați.
