The DOT Defence Procurement Agency of Ukraine’s Ministry of Defence has added night-vision sights, batteries for drones, and electro-optical and radar surveillance and counter-drone systems to the Prozorro Market e-catalogue. The Ministry of Defence reported this.

The Defence Ministry says that thanks to Prozorro Market, the military has more opportunities to independently purchase what their units need. The catalogue is already being actively used by military units. The DOT Defence Procurement Agency, which administers the catalogue, plans to develop this tool further — primarily by expanding categories in line with current needs. At present, among the most in-demand categories are pick-up trucks, quad bikes and batteries for drones. According to the Defence Ministry, in almost five months of the catalogue’s operation, the military has ordered and already received goods worth nearly UAH 320 million.

Overall, the catalogue covers a wide range of goods for the military:

  • transport and equipment — pick-up trucks, buggies, motorcycles;
  • equipment and components for drones;
  • clothing and gear — from body armour and camouflage suits to footwear and other items of kit.

The Defence Ministry added that the catalogue is available to all units of Ukraine’s Defence Forces that make purchases using decentralised budgets, as well as to other state customers. At the same time, the Agency centrally takes on a significant share of the preparatory work — from setting product requirements to qualifying suppliers.

This allows military units to move more quickly to purchasing what they need directly, without spending time and resources on part of the preparatory procedures, the Defence Ministry explains. Uniform product requirements and the pre-qualification of suppliers also help reduce procurement risks and make the process simpler and more predictable.

“The Prozorro Market catalogue, administered by the Defence Procurement Agency, helps the military with targeted or urgent needs. The platform makes it possible to quickly purchase the necessary item, for example in situations where something is lacking and it needs to be bought promptly. And not with personal money, but using decentralised budget funds,” said Ukraine’s Deputy Defence Minister, Mstyslav Banik.
