Ukrainian defence technology company TAF Industries and Luxembourg-based LUXUAV have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to work jointly on developing uncrewed solutions in Luxembourg and Belgium. This was stated in a TAF Industries press release.

The partnership provides for industrial co-operation in the development, production and deployment of uncrewed systems. The companies plan to combine Ukrainian experience gained during the full-scale war with European technological and industrial capabilities.

TAF Industries said that the co-operation with LUXUAV is part of the Build with Ukraine initiative, which is intended to support the development of Ukraine’s defence-industrial capabilities in partner countries and the integration of Ukrainian combat experience into European manufacturing.

“We are grateful to our partners in the Benelux countries for their continued support for Ukraine and for their growing commitment to strengthening Europe’s defence and security. By establishing a practical partnership between TAF Industries and LUXUAV, we will be able to accelerate innovation, expand production capacity and develop technologies that will make Ukraine and Europe safer and more resilient,” said TAF Industries CEO Volodymyr Zinovskyi.

The parties note that the memorandum is the first step towards developing co-operation in Luxembourg and Belgium. Their shared goal is described as strengthening Europe’s potential in the field of autonomous systems.

LUXUAV is a defence technology company from Luxembourg that is developing an integrated European drone ecosystem. The company is working on communications systems, artificial intelligence-based software and production capacity, covering technologies from ground level to the stratosphere.

TAF Industries is a Ukrainian defence technology company that develops and manufactures uncrewed and robotic systems. Its product portfolio includes more than 30 solutions, including strike and reconnaissance UAVs, interceptor drones, fibre-optic-controlled drones, ground robotic systems, relay drones and artificial intelligence-based solutions.

In September, TAF Industries and Germany’s Wingcopter signed a memorandum on establishing a joint venture to manufacture drones. The German company said the co-operation envisages serial production of Ukrainian reconnaissance drones, as well as providing Ukraine with access to the Wingcopter 262 reconnaissance UAV.

In addition, TAF Industries and Poland’s state-owned defence group PGZ signed a memorandum on localising drone production in Poland. The partnership also provides for joint research and development projects, as well as financing mechanisms.

TAF Industries also signed a co-operation memorandum with Sweden’s Recas for the joint production of ground robotic systems. Both companies are considering launching joint production both in partner countries and directly in Ukraine.
