Ukrainian company SkyFall has officially unveiled its own Thor Hammer mid-strike drone. The company currently offers two variants — with a flight range of up to 350km and 600km. SkyFall told Defender Media.
According to the company, Thor Hammer can carry a warhead weighing 40–50kg and reach speeds of up to 180km/h. Thor Hammer has a wingspan of 3.5m, a length of 3m, and a maximum operating altitude of up to 4,000m. The drone can be fitted with a daylight and/or thermal imaging camera. Preparing the system for launch takes 18 minutes.
The developers note that Thor Hammer can be equipped with fragmentation, high-explosive fragmentation and other types of warheads. The drone is launched from a catapult or using a rocket booster. According to the manufacturer, this makes it possible to use the mid-strike drone both from fixed launch platforms and from mobile launchers mounted on lorries or other vehicles.
To provide communications depending on the mission, the drone can be equipped with Starlink or other secure systems. The navigation suite combines satellite and inertial positioning, as well as backup navigation means. SkyFall says this multi-layered setup allows the mission to continue under the effects of electronic warfare.
During flight, Thor Hammer autonomously follows a pre-set route and transmits real-time video to the operator. As it approaches the target, the system alerts the operator, who makes the final decision on whether to strike.
After the target is confirmed, artificial intelligence and computer vision algorithms take over. They automatically adjust the drone’s trajectory to guide it onto the target. The company says this process can continue even after a complete loss of radio and video links. Thor Hammer is also integrated with SkyFall’s remote control system which, according to the manufacturer, makes it possible to operate the mid-strike drone from anywhere in the world.
Depending on the onboard configuration, the cost of one drone is $25,000–30,000. By the end of 2026, the manufacturer plans to increase production capacity to 5,000 mid-strike drones per month.
SkyFall emphasises that the electronics that power Thor Hammer’s key systems are developed in-house. At the same time, its R&D team is working on developing its own engines for mid-strike drones. Two versions with ranges of up to 350km and 600km are currently available in the Thor Hammer line-up. Separately, the company is developing a modification designed to cover more than 1,000km.
SkyFall is a Ukrainian defence technology company that develops and mass-produces unmanned systems, including the heavy Vampire bomber drone, Shrike FPV drones and P1-SUN interceptor drones, as well as communications systems and other components. SkyFall has its own R&D centre, production lines and an academy for training specialists, and in 2026 signed a memorandum on a strategic partnership with Airbus Defence and Space.
