Ukrainian defence technology company UFORCE took part in the international REPMUS 26 exercises in Portugal. The company reported this on the social network LinkedIn.

Whereas last year UFORCE brought five sea drones to the exercises and operated only for the “red” team, this time the company worked on both sides at once — for both “red” and “blue” — rehearsing attack, reconnaissance and defence scenarios.

For the first time, UFORCE presented its entire suite of systems at REPMUS simultaneously — the Nemesis SeaStrike long-range strike drone, which can launch directly from a ship, the MV11 boat and the L11 uncrewed logistics platform. UFORCE also showcased the MV7 sea drone in all the configurations it uses: with interception, FPV, kinetic strike and electronic warfare modules. All systems operated under unified control via the company’s in-house C2 software.

UFORCE carried out part of its tasks jointly with the Naval Forces of Ukraine throughout the exercises.

“No other navy has as much combat experience in employing uncrewed systems at sea as Ukraine. That is why the opportunity to work alongside them on the water in front of NATO navies was a source of pride for our entire team,” the company said.

UFORCE added that the MV7 boat at the quay was personally inspected by the President of Portugal and the country’s Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, António José Seguro.

REPMUS is an annual exercise focused on practising maritime uncrewed systems, organised by the Portuguese Navy together with the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Porto, NATO’s Centre for Maritime Research and Experimentation (CMRE), NATO’s Joint Coordination Centre for Maritime Uncrewed Systems (NATO JCGMUS) and the European Defence Agency. This year’s exercises ran from 31 August to 25 September and brought together around 1,500 representatives from navies, the defence industry and academia.

During REPMUS, German defence company STARK, which has an R&D centre in Ukraine, demonstrated the Vanta 12 autonomous uncrewed boat for reconnaissance, surveillance and countering threats at sea. The boat successfully carried out a number of mission scenarios in cooperation with crewed and uncrewed platforms.
