Ukraine has secured €50m from the Council of Europe Development Bank and the Italian government to compensate for homes destroyed as a result of the war. The funds will be directed towards housing certificates under the “eRecovery” programme.

This was reported by Ukraine’s Prime Minister Serhii Koretskyi.

According to him, thanks to this funding, around 2,200 Ukrainian families who lost their homes due to Russian aggression will be able to receive new housing.

This is the first tranche of an additional €100m under the HOME project, which Ukraine agreed with partners during the Ukraine Recovery Conference 2026 in Gdańsk. Overall, the new package provides €50m from the Council of Europe Development Bank and €50m from the Italian government.

Previously, under the HOME project, Ukraine had already secured €200m and financed more than 6,000 housing certificates.

The project provides compensation for destroyed housing in the form of housing certificates, enabling those affected to purchase new homes.

Koretskyi thanked the Council of Europe Development Bank and the Italian government for supporting Ukraine and helping Ukrainian families who have lost their housing because of the war.
