On 3 October, an alert was declared again at Chisinau Airport and passengers and staff were evacuated due to a bomb threat.

Check-in for flights was temporarily suspended at the airport, and passengers were warned of possible changes to the flight schedule, Newsmaker reports.

Units of the Ministry of Internal Affairs arrived at the scene and inspected the premises. Later, the border police said the checks had been completed and no suspicious items had been found. The bomb threat report turned out to be false.

The airport has now resumed normal operations, and passengers are once again being allowed into the terminal.

  • This is not the first such incident: the day before, on 2 October, people were also evacuated from the airport due to a bomb threat, which was not confirmed after police checks.
