In Hampshire, the police in the United Kingdom arrested 12 people following an anti-migrant protest in the town of Gosport.
This was reported by Sky News.
On Sunday, 4 October, about 350 demonstrators gathered near the marina after reports of the possible arrival of a boat carrying 149 migrants. Clashes broke out with police during the protest, and the crowd dispersed at around 2:00.
Hampshire and Isle of Wight Police said they had arrested 11 men aged between 22 and 59, and a 57-year-old woman. They are suspected of assaulting a police officer, criminal damage, and racially aggravated public order offences.
Another man was arrested on suspicion of obstructing traffic after the route for ambulances was blocked near the marina.
Several police officers who were injured were treated at the scene.
"Last night there were several incidents that were by no means peaceful protests, but rather violent public order disturbances," said Deputy Chief Constable Simon Dodds.
Officers are reviewing body-worn camera footage and videos posted online to identify any further potential offences.
All those arrested remain in custody.
The UK Home Office said the migrants would be taken to Kent for processing.
