In the Black Sea, a Russian attack drone damaged a commercial vessel flying the flag of the Marshall Islands. It was carrying rapeseed oil on board.

This was reported by the head of the Odesa Regional Military Administration, Oleh Kiper.

As a result of the attack, the vessel was damaged and its superstructure caught fire. One person was killed and seven others were injured.

"By deliberately striking civilian shipping and port infrastructure, Russia is flagrantly violating international law and creating a threat to global food security," the head of the regional administration wrote.

  • On the night of 5 October, Russia carried out a mass attack on Odesa Region. Industrial and port infrastructure, as well as a holiday-home area, came under fire. There were no casualties. Large-scale fires broke out at the impact sites.
