Ukrainian defence company Buntar Aerospace has raised $16m in a new investment round. The deal was led by Freedom Fund and an international private equity fund, with Gardar, Iron Wolf and Autonomy Capital also participating. The company said so in a press release.

Buntar Aerospace will channel the new funding into several areas at once: speeding up product development, expanding manufacturing capacity, and strengthening the team — including by bringing in established engineering and management teams with relevant experience.

The company will also continue to improve its AI assistant, Buntar Copilot, and will enter overseas markets with dual-use solutions that go beyond traditional intelligence and surveillance.

Buntar Aerospace is a Ukrainian company that develops autonomous defence systems. It was founded in August 2023. The company’s developments include the Buntar-3 reconnaissance drone, capable of operating in conditions of intense electronic warfare, and the Buntar Copilot AI assistant.
