Russian special services have stepped up the recruitment of residents of frontline towns in the Donetsk region using chatbots. The Centre for Countering Disinformation reports this.
According to the CCD, hostile resources are urging residents of Kramatorsk, Sloviansk, Dobropillia and Druzhkivka to travel to occupied Donetsk, promising to provide them with housing. To do so, people are being offered registration in special chatbots.
The Centre for Countering Disinformation warns that in this way the Russians may collect Ukrainians’ personal data and try to draw them into cooperation to prepare acts of sabotage.
Residents of frontline communities are being urged to follow information security guidance, use only official evacuation channels organised by the Ukrainian authorities, and not engage with Russian resources.
