In the temporarily occupied territories of Kherson and Zaporizhzhia regions, Russian National Guard troops are holding so-called “lessons in courage” for children. During the sessions, schoolchildren are told about service, “patriotism”, military traditions, and Russian security forces are glorified.
This is reported by the National Resistance Centre.
According to the centre, during such sessions children are gradually being instilled with the idea that military uniforms, weapons and service in Russian security agencies are a natural part of life.
The occupation authorities use these events to build loyalty to Russian security agencies, romanticise the war and present military service as an honourable duty.
The National Resistance Centre notes that, under the guise of “patriotic education”, the occupiers are trying to shape a generation of children for whom service in the Russian army and security agencies will be seen as a normal part of their future.
