Today, 10 October, Kyiv temporarily halted metro train services and escalator operations. Electric transport was also partially out of service. Services have resumed, but with changes.

The Kyiv City State Administration reported this. Klitschko later wrote that the situation with the capital’s power supply had worsened due to damage to an energy facility in Kyiv Region. The city is also experiencing disruptions to water supply.

Update. As of 13:53, the administration said trains had resumed running on all lines of the capital’s metro, with longer intervals. Waiting times on the “red” and “green” lines are approximately 12–15 minutes. It was later reported that electric transport services had resumed in all districts of the capital, but are running off schedule.

Train services on the “blue” line are operating under dispatcher control. Waiting times are more than 15 minutes.

The longer intervals between trains are linked to disruptions in electricity supply from external power centres.

“Due to the loss of voltage from external power centres, metro train services and escalator operations have been temporarily suspended,” the Kyiv City State Administration said.

It was later reported that, due to the lack of voltage in the power system, electric transport services were temporarily suspended in Holosiivskyi District, and in parts of Solomianskyi, Shevchenkivskyi and Pecherskyi districts of Kyiv.

Further updates on the resumption of services and subsequent changes to public transport operations were to be provided additionally.
