Ahead of Poland’s Independence Day, Russia has stepped up information operations aimed at stoking anti-Ukrainian sentiment and provoking a rift between the two countries.
This was reported by the Centre for Countering Disinformation.
According to the CCD, the intensification of such operations is evidenced by the involvement of the Russian disinformation network Pravda / Portal Kombat in spreading destructive narratives in Poland’s information space.
In particular, hostile outlets are promoting claims about the “collapse of Polish-Ukrainian friendship”, a rise in xenophobic sentiment, and an alleged total fatigue of Polish society with Ukraine.
The Centre for Countering Disinformation notes that Russia is systematically trying to create the illusion of deep hostility between allies. The aim of these information operations, the agency assesses, is to weaken international support for Ukraine and fracture the unity of European countries.
