Search and rescue operations have been completed in Zaporizhzhia at the site of a Russian strike on a residential building, which killed 20 people, including four children. Another 17 people were injured, including three children.
This was reported by the State Emergency Service of Ukraine.
A Russian aerial bomb destroyed the entrance section of a three-storey building. Other buildings and private homes were also damaged.
Rescuers dismantled parts of the damaged building and removed about 320 tonnes of construction debris. Canine units from Donetsk and Dnipropetrovsk regions were involved in the search and rescue and other urgent work.
Municipal services are currently carrying out restoration work.
- On 10 October, Russian forces attacked Zaporizhzhia with guided aerial bombs. A strike was recorded on a five-storey residential building. As a result of the attack, at least 26 residential buildings were damaged — 23 multi-storey blocks and three private houses in the Shevchenkivskyi and Voznesenivskyi districts.
