Polish police have received information about a possible assassination attempt on Prime Minister Donald Tusk and Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Defence Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz. Because of the potential threat, the country’s security agencies convened a special meeting.
This was reported by Karolina Gałecka, spokesperson for Poland’s Ministry of the Interior and Administration, on the social network X, Onet writes.
According to her, Minister of the Interior and Administration Marcin Kierwiński and the minister-coordinator of the special services, Tomasz Siemoniak, instructed that the necessary measures be taken after the information was received.
A meeting has been scheduled for 11 October at 11:00 local time at the Anti-Terrorism Centre of Poland’s Internal Security Agency. It is to be attended by representatives of the police, the State Protection Service and the Internal Security Agency.
The information was also confirmed by Jacek Dobrzyński, spokesperson for the minister-coordinator of the special services.
For now, the Polish authorities have not said who may be behind the alleged plot or how specific the threat to the officials is.
