Overnight, Russia attacked Ukrainians with a large number of ballistic missiles, which at present can be countered only by Patriot air defence systems. Four missiles were intercepted.
That is not many. However, not all of the missiles reached their targets, Air Force spokesperson Yuriy Ihnat said on television.
“It was Ukraine’s energy sector that was in the crosshairs,” he said.
The drone interception statistics are better. The Russian military launched 128 drones, 77 of them jet-powered. Air defences shot down 90% — 115 in total, including 59 jet-powered drones. Last month, the interception rate for jet-powered drones was 60%, while today it has already reached 76%. Ihnat stressed that it is impossible to shoot down everything, but the effectiveness of repelling attacks is improving.
Ignat added that parts of missiles and UAVs are now often found that were manufactured in Europe just a few weeks before the attack. In mass strikes, the Russians mix S-400 missiles with other types.
