Police have issued a notice of suspicion to a resident of Okhtyrka, who is accused of desecrating the burial sites of Ukrainian service personnel.
The offences took place on the Alley of Glory at a local cemetery, the Sumy Region Police said.
Law enforcement officers received reports of items missing from the graves of fallen defenders. In one case, live and artificial flowers, a basket and a decorative plaster angel figure were stolen from a burial site; in another, a flag installed on a grave was taken.
During operational search measures, police identified the suspect. She was served with a notice of suspicion under an article covering desecration of a grave committed for selfish motives. A pre-trial investigation is currently ongoing.
