Ukraine needs to speed up the construction and grid connection of distributed generation facilities.
Prime Minister Serhii Koretskyi said this following a meeting of the Anti-Crisis Energy Headquarters.
“There is a clear task to accelerate the construction and connection of distributed generation facilities. It is important to continue active work with international partners, in particular through the Energy Support Fund. Separately — on Kyiv, where the situation is among the most difficult. Clear instructions were issued to implement, as quickly as possible, a specific list of actions and decisions that will make it possible to stabilise the situation in the capital. And also to catch up on the construction of distributed generation. Oversight lies with the Ministry of Energy,” the head of government said.
Koretskyi added that the energy minister and company heads reported on the situation in the power system, the progress of repairs at attacked facilities, the installation of engineering protection, as well as the accumulation of gas, coal, fuel oil, fuel and the necessary reserve of equipment for rapid restoration.
- In April this year, it became known that the Cabinet of Ministers is launching a state support mechanism for large and medium-sized businesses to build their own distributed generation.
- The programme was due to start on 1 June.
- Companies were given the opportunity to take out loans at an effective rate of 10% per annum for the construction and commissioning of gas turbine and gas piston units, including cogeneration facilities using renewable energy (biomass, biogas, geothermal energy), energy storage systems, microgrids and local autonomous energy systems.
