The Criminal Cassation Court of the Supreme Court partially upheld the defence’s appeals and sent the case of the former director of Zaporizhzhia Titanium and Magnesium Plant LLC for a new hearing before the Appeals Chamber of the High Anti-Corruption Court.
This was reported by the Specialised Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office.
The former official is suspected of embezzling more than UAH 18.6 million by abusing his official position. The Supreme Court’s ruling is final and cannot be appealed.
In December 2025, the HACC Appeals Chamber sentenced the former head of the enterprise to three years and six months’ imprisonment. The court also barred him from holding managerial positions for three years and imposed a fine of UAH 17,000.
The HACC Appeals Chamber issued a similar verdict in December 2022, but after considering the lawyers’ cassation appeal, the Supreme Court had already sent the case back for a repeat appeal hearing.
