During the occupation of Kherson, a 48-year-old local resident voluntarily took up a senior post in the occupation government and was responsible for the work of the logistics and technical support department. She has been notified in absentia of suspicion of collaborationist activity.

This was reported by the Kherson Regional Prosecutor’s Office.

Under the procedural supervision of the Kherson Regional Prosecutor’s Office, the 48-year-old resident of the region was notified in absentia of suspicion of collaborationist activity under Part 5 of Article 111-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.

According to the investigation, in June 2022, during the occupation of Kherson, the woman took up the post of so-called “head of the logistics and technical support department of the apparatus of the Council of Ministers – government of the Kherson Region Military-Civil Administration”.

In this role, she organised the department’s work, handled recruitment, compiled timesheets and carried out other duties in accordance with her job description.

The pre-trial investigation is being conducted by officers of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) Directorate in Kherson Region.

  • The Security Service detained two Russian accomplices who collaborated with the occupiers during the seizure of Kherson and, after de-occupation, tried to avoid criminal liability.
