An evacuation has begun from Oleshky in Kherson Region. The ceasefire continues.
This was written by the head of the Servant of the People parliamentary faction in Ukraine’s Verkhovna Rada, Davyd Arakhamia, and reported by the Ombudsman, Dmytro Lubinets.
The Ukrainian delegation has already reached Oleshky safely, and the evacuation and distribution of humanitarian aid have begun. The ceasefire has now been in place for 80 hours and is continuing.
“I am currently on the ground speaking with local residents to hear about their needs and understand what assistance they need most. I will share details later,” Lubinets wrote.
The work is continuing in line with agreements reached with Russia’s Human Rights Commissioner, Yana Lantratova, with the support and coordination of US First Lady Melania Trump.
- For the evacuation from Oleshky, 25 buses with 750 seats have been prepared, and ambulances are available for people with limited mobility. Those who wish to stay will be provided with humanitarian support.
- According to the head of government, Oleshky residents who have expressed a desire to leave for Ukraine’s free territory will be taken to Belarus. From there, they will be able to travel to Ukraine.
