In the Shostka community of the Sumy region, a Russian attack on a civilian business killed a 43-year-old woman. Eight other people were injured, one of them in a serious condition.

This was reported by the head of the Sumy Regional Military Administration, Oleh Hryhorov.

Russian forces deliberately struck the business with attack drones while employees were on site at the time of the strike.

The injured are receiving the necessary medical care. A rescue operation and efforts to deal with the aftermath of the shelling are ongoing at the strike site. The extent of the damage is currently being assessed.

Hryhorov also said that during the attack, the Defence Forces destroyed some of the Russian drones. At the same time, the threat of repeat strikes on the community remains.

  • The day before, Russian forces shelled 14 settlements in the Sumy region, using guided aerial bombs, attack drones, FPV drones, mortars and artillery. As a result of the attacks, four local residents were injured: men aged 41 and 71, and women aged 54 and 62. Residential buildings and infrastructure facilities were also damaged.
