The parties also discussed modernising the sea and river ports of Greater Odesa and the Danube region, as well as attracting investment through concession projects in the ports of Chornomorsk and Odesa.

According to the Ministry of Infrastructure, since the start of the full-scale invasion Russia has damaged or destroyed 1,223 port infrastructure facilities and 297 civilian vessels.

Special attention was also paid to developing border infrastructure, including border crossing points and the installation of modular shelters.

In addition, participants reviewed the work of the Ukraine Transport Support Fund (UTSF), which co-ordinates international assistance for the sector’s recovery. Sweden, Lithuania, Norway, Germany and Estonia have already joined the fund. Total contributions amount to around €10 million.

Following the meeting, the parties agreed on further steps to co-ordinate international technical assistance and speed up the implementation of joint infrastructure projects.
