During a temporary ceasefire, 173 residents were evacuated from ten high-risk communities on the right bank of the Kherson region. Among them were 21 children and 24 people with limited mobility.
This was reported by the head of the Kherson Regional Military Administration, Oleksandr Prokudin.
The evacuation lasted six days, from 27 October to 1 November. People were taken out of settlements that Russian forces regularly shell with artillery and attack with drones.
According to Prokudin, some communities had previously been virtually impossible to reach because of the intensity of Russian strikes and the mining of roads.
During this period, evacuation teams worked in Beryslav, Novoberyslav, Dudchany, Novokairy, Mylove, Novovorontsovka, Liubymivka, Novooleksandrivka, Zolota Balka, Chervone, Havrylivka, Novoraisk, Lvove, Vysoke, Odradokamianka, Dariivka, Lymantsi, Stanislav, Shyroka Balka, Kherson, Antonivka, Zelenivka, Kozatske and Vesele.
Among those evacuated were 21 children. In particular, three minors were taken out of Stanislav, and another two from Beryslav. There are now no children left in these settlements.
Most of those evacuated went to stay with relatives in other regions of Ukraine or in safer areas of the Kherson region. People who need medical assistance and constant care were temporarily accommodated in healthcare facilities.
Prokudin assured that all evacuees will continue to receive the necessary medical, social and humanitarian assistance.
The evacuation in the Kherson region is ongoing. To leave dangerous settlements, residents can contact the regional contact centre on: 0800 101 102 or 0800 330 951.
