Ukrainian company BlueBird Tech has released a new version of its drone detector, the ‘Chuika 3 plus’. The device has additionally gained an expanded mid-range band of 3.3 GHz, covering frequencies from 2870 to 4500 MHz. This is stated in the company’s press release.

The detector automatically scans three frequency bands: 900-2200 MHz, 2870-4500 MHz and 4860-6060 MHz. A full cycle takes 4-8 seconds. If a signal is detected, the device issues an audible and visual warning, the developers said.

Information about detected signals is displayed on the small screen, while the larger screen can be used to view the intercepted video signal from an FPV drone’s camera, as in the previous version of the detector. A video output can also be connected to the device to display the image on external screens.

According to the company, the detection range remains unchanged — up to 4 km, depending on operating conditions and the type of antennas. The device weighs 650 g, has a PETG plastic casing with IP54 protection, and runs for up to six hours on a built-in 4,500 mAh battery.

By way of reminder, in October BlueBird Tech presented a new version of its drone detector — the ‘Chuika 4.5.0’, which operates across four bands: 1080-2200 MHz, 2870-4500 MHz, 4890-6040 MHz and 6050-8800 MHz.
