Over the past week, Ukraine’s State Border Guard Service has not recorded the operation of repeaters on Belarusian territory that transmit signals for Russian attack drones.
This was reported by SBGS spokesperson Andrii Demchenko in comments to Ukrinform.
According to him, the last time the operation of such a repeater on Belarusian territory was recorded was last week.
Border guards also say they have not observed any attempts to build up military groupings or to concentrate equipment and personnel near Ukraine’s border along the frontier with Belarus.
Demchenko stressed that Ukrainian intelligence units, the Ministry of Defence and the SBGS are constantly monitoring the situation not only directly on the border, but also deeper inside Belarus.
The spokesperson noted that Belarus remains under significant Kremlin influence, so the threat to Ukraine from its territory persists.
- In June, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that Russian and Belarusian repeaters are deployed on Belarusian territory and could be used to adjust drone attacks against Ukrainian territory. The head of state added that Lukashenko has a week to dismantle such infrastructure; otherwise, Ukraine may take action itself.
