Construction is under way in Kryvyi Rih on 12 km of a new main water pipeline to ensure a stable water supply to the north of the city — the Pokrovskyi and Ternivskyi districts.

This was reported by Kryvyi Rih Mayor Oleksandr Vilkul.

Some 91% of the main route has already been laid. In October, builders installed about 1,900 metres of pipes with a diameter of 1,000 mm.

“But the new pipeline is not just pipes — it includes pumping stations, 15 reinforced-concrete chambers, cable lines, new equipment, frequency converters and much more. There is still a lot to do, the volume of work is very large, but the task is to have everything up and running by spring,” the mayor added.

Vilkul noted that after the destruction of the Kakhovka dam, the city’s water supply system changed completely. To ensure stable pressure and reliable operation specifically in the northern part, it was necessary to lay a new pipeline from the Karachunivske Reservoir. “We have reached an agreement with the French government on pipes and equipment,” the mayor said.
