On the night of 7 November, Russia carried out a combined attack on Ukraine, using 172 attack drones and 36 ballistic missiles. The enemy directed all the missiles at Kyiv and the Kyiv region. The main target once again was energy infrastructure.

This was reported by Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

According to him, Kyiv is facing a difficult situation with electricity, water and heat supplies. The strikes damaged residential buildings, the Northern Bridge, and partially destroyed a nursery school.

In the Kyiv region, Russian forces attacked substations that connect the Rivne and Khmelnytskyi nuclear power plants with Kyiv and Ukraine’s central regions. Damage was also recorded at substations in Vinnytsia, Zhytomyr, Rivne, Kharkiv and Dnipropetrovsk regions.

Overall, in addition to the capital and the Kyiv region, another 12 regions also came under Russian strikes. Nine people were injured, including one child.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy noted that repair and rescue operations are continuing in regions where the security situation allows. He also urged partners not to leave Ukraine without support amid intensified Russian attacks.

The President stressed the need to increase bilateral assistance from the United States, step up attention to Ukraine from the US Congress, and maintain support from both parties on security issues, condemnation of Russian aggression, and tougher sanctions against Vladimir Putin.

“America’s resolve and consistency in supporting Ukraine are of great importance in bringing peace closer,” Zelenskyy said.
