A large-scale power outage has been recorded in Zhytomyr Region as a result of a Russian attack. Power engineers are currently working to restore electricity supplies as quickly as possible.

This was reported by JSC Zhytomyroblenergo and the head of the Regional Military Administration, Vitalii Bunechko.

“During a combined aerial attack that began yesterday evening, the Russians struck energy and fuel infrastructure facilities in the Zhytomyr and Zviahel communities of the region,” the head of the Regional Military Administration said.

Repair work and efforts to deal with the aftermath of the enemy attacks continued throughout the night and are ongoing now.

Power engineers are doing everything possible to restore electricity to residents of the region. Fires at the impact sites have been extinguished by State Emergency Service rescuers.

Residents are being urged to unplug equipment that is sensitive to voltage fluctuations in order to protect it from possible damage while power supplies are being restored.

  • On the evening of 6 November, the Russians attacked an energy infrastructure facility in the Zhytomyr community. Due to damage to the energy facility, the situation with the capital’s power supply also deteriorated. Water pressure in Kyiv’s water supply system also fell.
