On the night of 7 November, Flamingo missiles reportedly struck the Proton plant in Oryol, Russia, while the Saratov oil refinery was attacked by drones. Fires were recorded at both sites following the strikes.

This was reported by the monitoring resource Exilenova+.

In Oryol, a fire broke out near Building No. 48 of the Proton plant. According to preliminary information, Flamingo cruise missiles may have been used in the strike. Russian sources reported their launches.

Denys Shtilerman confirmed the strike on the Proton plant in Oryol using munitions produced by Fire Point. It is likely that these were FP-5 Flamingo cruise missiles.

The Proton plant specialises in the production of optoelectronics, semiconductor devices and electronic components. Its products are used in Russian weaponry, including Iskander-M ballistic missiles and Pantsir-S1 surface-to-air missile and gun systems.

Drones also attacked the Saratov refinery. Several separate outbreaks of fire were recorded on the site.

The plant is part of the Rosneft group and has a design capacity of around 7 million tonnes of oil per year. It produces petrol, diesel and marine fuel, bitumen and other petroleum products. The facility is also involved in supplying the Russian army with fuels and lubricants.
