At around 1am, the Russians began a new wave of missile attacks on Kyiv and the surrounding region. Five people were injured at two addresses in the Solomianskyi district. A child is among the victims, rescuers said in the morning.
As of the morning of 7 November, according to Kyiv’s mayor, the enemy’s overnight attack damaged energy facilities in the Kyiv and Zhytomyr regions. The situation with the capital’s power supply is extremely difficult. As a result, there are disruptions to the city’s heating and water supply systems.
There are already five casualties, including a 14-year-old child. Medics hospitalised two of the injured.
Also, as a result of Russia’s attacks, the Northern Bridge has been damaged. Specialists are assessing the extent of the damage.
Traffic on the bridge is currently closed in both directions.
Energy workers and municipal services are working to restore services for residents.
The Air Force reports targets heading towards the capital, Brovary and Makariv.
According to monitoring channels, these are Zircon-type missiles launched from Kursk and Bryansk. The enemy’s targets were civilian energy and heat-supply facilities. The total number of missiles was about 20.
Loud explosions were heard in Kyiv. Mayor Vitali Klitschko urged people to remain in shelters.
The Kyiv City Military Administration said that, preliminarily, in the Solomianskyi district the attack damaged a five-storey residential building and a kindergarten building. As of 6:30am, according to the State Emergency Service, the number of injured had risen to three.
“In the Solomianskyi district, fires broke out and destruction and damage to residential buildings, a kindergarten and a non-residential building were recorded. At one address, the façade of the first floor of a five-storey residential building was partially destroyed. There was no fire, and there were no fatalities or casualties. At three other addresses, the blast wave blew out windows in five-storey buildings. One person was injured. Destruction of a two-storey building on the kindergarten grounds was also recorded. At another location, a parked lorry and a non-residential building were on fire. The fire has been extinguished,” the statement said.
Even before the start of the new day, the Russians had already used at least six ballistic missiles against the capital.
