Ukraine and Germany have agreed additional financial support for the purchase of equipment and products needed to restore Ukraine’s energy sector.
The Energy Ministry reports this.
"Denys Shmyhal discussed additional support for Ukraine’s energy sector with Germany’s Federal Minister for Economic Affairs and Energy, Katherina Reiche. Following on from agreements between the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, and the Federal Chancellor of Germany, Friedrich Merz, the ministers discussed further support for Ukraine’s energy sector," the statement said.
The parties agreed on partners providing financial support for the procurement of products needed for restoration work, and on coordinating diplomatic efforts to put pressure on Russia following a recent attack on an electricity substation critical to the operation of the Khmelnytskyi Nuclear Power Plant.
- In April this year, a US Energy Department delegation visited Kyiv and said the United States is interested in completing two units at the Khmelnytskyi Nuclear Power Plant.
