In Russia’s Rostov region, a drone attack has damaged a bridge over the Mius River on the R-280 road, which Russians use as an alternative route for supplying cargo to Crimea.

This was reported by the region’s governor, Yuri Slusar, and Russian media.

The damage was recorded at the 97th kilometre of the road. Drone debris partially destroyed the bridge’s road surface. Two tracked cranes were also damaged. No one was injured.

The R-280 “Novorossiya” road stretches for about 640 kilometres and runs through Mariupol, Berdiansk, Melitopol and other occupied Ukrainian cities. Since 2023, Russia has been developing it as an alternative route to occupied Crimea.

Since spring 2025, the highway has been fully used to transport fuel and cargo to Russia’s military grouping in the Azov region and Crimea. It has become an alternative to the Kerch Bridge, which has repeatedly come under Ukrainian attack.
