One Ukrainian soldier was killed and three were wounded by enemy gunfire in Luhansk Region on 4 April.
"On 4 April, separatist militants periodically shelled Stanytsya Luhanska in the 'new bridge' and the pedestrian checkpoint area. At 13:10 terrorists fired mortars in the direction of the Ukrainian military in the vicinity of Novozvanivka and Kalynove. As a result, one serviceman of the 59th brigade was killed and three were wounded," the official website of the Luhansk military and civil administration said in a statement.
The head of the Luhansk administration, Heorhiy Tuka, warned that all the checkpoints in the area would be closed in case of further aggravation of the situation.
On 31 March, the local automobile checkpoint Zolote was opened but had to be closed on the same day because of the shelling.
