Over the past day, one soldier has been killed and another injured in Donbas, the spokesman of the Presidential Administration for the antiterrorist operation (ATO), Col Andriy Lysenko, has said.
He said the Ukrainian trooper was killed in Opytne and one soldier was wounded in the village of Zaytseve by enemy fire.
On Sunday (15 May), the situation in Donbas significantly deteriorated. Militants used weapons against the ATO forces along the entire line of contact. Over the past day, the enemy has opened fire on the Ukrainian military 36 times. Also, one combat engagement was reported earlier.
