Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration Oleksiy Filatov says the Verkhovna Rada, public and experts must joint efforts to get the reform of the judicial system moving.
He stated this at a roundtable in Gorshenin Institute, held jointly with the Reanimation Package of Reforms civic platform in the press-center of the Gorshenin Institute
"We have a window of opportunity and that window will not be open for long. If we do not use this chance, things can move into a dead end. We cannot wait forever for the judiciary reform to be implemented," said Filatov.
"The Constitution does not provide all the answers. This is the foundation. But if we do not renovate the foundation by discarding destructive elements. The building of justice will always stagger. Even if we have a sturdy foundation, we still cannot be sure that we build a nice house, but good foundation is a must. Setting the right foundation is a step that enables us to work further on," the official said.
Despite all risks, the all the stakeholders must "take responsibility, have the determination to take this step and move ahead", he added.
Nevertheless, Filatov expressed confidence that with the support of the Verkhovna Rada, the public and professional community the justice reform will start moving.
