ATO troops see 21 attacks in Donbas
In a clash, govt troops seized a modern infantry flamethrower.
Twenty one attacks, including those by use of mortars are reported by governmental troops in Donbas over the past 24 hours, the defence ministry press center said on Facebook on 31 May.
Ukrainian positions near Verkhniotoretske, Novobakhmutivka, Krasnohorivka and Opytne were shelled by 120mm mortars.
Small arms, various types of grenade launchers and 82mm mortars attacked Ukrainian servicemen stationed near Avdiyivka and Nevelske.
Army positions near Krasnohorivka, Novotroitske and Talakivka were under fire from small arms, large-caliber machineguns and automatic grenade launchers. Sniper fire was observed in the Krasnohorivka area.
Infantry combat vehicle weapons and 82mm mortars shelled Ukrainian positions near Zaitseve. Ukrainian positions near Stanytsia Luhanska were attacked by use of large-caliber machineguns, various types of grenade launchers and infantry combat vehicle weapons "despite the presence of an OSCE post in that area," the report said.
