Law enforcers search Bucha mayor, Irpin mayor on the run
The case concerns misappropriation of 900 ha of forest.
Law enforcers are searching the house of the mayor of the town of Bucha, Kyiv Region, Anatoliy Fedoruk, the press-secretary of the Prosecutor General's Office Larisa Sarhan told Ukrainian News.
Sarhan also confirmed the information that the mayor of Irpin, Kyiv Region, Volodymyr Karplyuk has left the country and is on the wanted list.
Previously, MP Volodymyr Aryev wrote on Facebook: "From 6 am, the Prosecutor General's Office is searching the house of the infamous Bucha mayor Anatoliy Fedoruk in the case of misappropriation of 900 ha of forest in the Kyiv Region. His accomplice, an even more notorious mayor of Irpin Volodymyr Karplyuk, who has tried to seize power in [the town of] Kotsyubinske and organized attacks on activists left the country at 3 am/" Aryev wrote on Facebook.
Reportedly, Fedoruk and Karplyuk are godfathers.
Karplyuk in 2015 has declared owning 67 apartments.
