Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has briefed NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg over the phone on the escalation of the situation in Donetsk and Luhansk regions, and the growing number of Russian provocations in occupied Donbas and Crimea.

Poroshenko also called for keeping the issue of the Russian aggression against Ukraine on the agenda of the North Atlantic Alliance.

Stoltenberg underscored the importance of full implementation of the Minsk agreements.

The parties discussed the status of implementation of the "Integrated package of NATO assistance to Ukraine" approved at the Alliance Summit in Warsaw. The president expressed hope that the package will help to modernize the Ukrainian army to the NATO standards.
