Russia is stealing Ukrainian history, said President Petro Poroshenko as he commented on the opening of the monument of Kyiv Prince Volodymyr the Great.
"In the Kremlin, next to unburied Lenin they unveiled a monument to our Kyiv Prince Volodymyr. This is just another attempt of hybrid pilfering of history," Interfax-Ukraine quoted Poroshenko as saying during a visit to Ljubljana on 8 November.
On 4 November, a 17-m monument to Prince Volodymyr the Great was unveiled in Moscow. Volodymyr the Great ruled in Kyiv 979-1015.
In Kyiv, a monument to Volydymyr was built in 1853.
