In October, inflation in Ukraine accelerated to 2.8% after 1.8% in September, the State Statistics Service said in a release on 8 November.
According to the State Statistics Service the prices of food and non-alcoholic beverages rose 1.8%, alcohol and cigarettes - by 2.2%, for clothes and footwear - by 2.5%, for utility services - by 7.5%, for healthcare services - by 0.5%, education - by 0.5% across Ukraine (excluding the temporarily occupied parts of Crimea and Donbas).
Since the beginning of the year, inflation reached 9.4% as consumer prices rose 12.4% over October in the previous year.
In 2015, consumer prices in Ukraine rose 43.3%. The official inflation forecast for 2016 is at about 12%.
