Since the start of the day, pro-Russian militants have launched 19 attacks on the antiterrorist operation (ATO) positions in Donbas, 17 of them focusing on the Mariupol sector, the ATO press centre said in its evening update on Facebook on 16 December.

The militants fired with 122-mm artillery on Shyrokyne, Lebedynske and Vodyane. They used 120-mm and 82-mm mortars to target Talakivka, Krasnohorivka, Shyrokyne and Vodyane.

They fired with grenade launchers and small arms on Maryinka, Hnutove, Novotroyitske and Vodyane.

Shyrokyne was targeted from an infantry fighting vehicle gun, Krasnohorivka by sniper fire.

In the Luhansk sector, the militants fired with small arms on Nyzhnyoteple. In the Donetsk sector, they used 82-mm mortars, grenade launchers of various systems and small arms to hit Avdiyivka.
